Mohamed Chakroun
Mohamed Chakroun is a Medical Doctor, infectious diseases specialist, professor at the Faculty of Medicine of Monastir, Tunisia.
He is a physician providing care and supporting people living with HIV (PLHIV) with an extensive experience in HIV care, antiretroviral therapy (ART) and prevention including prevention of mother to child transmission (PMTCT).
He supported technically HIV/AIDS & STIs & Hepatitis (HAS) Unit in WHO Regional Office (Cairo, Egypt) in the areas of antiretroviral therapy (ART) and combination HIV prevention as well as UNICEF Regional Office (Amman, Jordan) in the Triple Elimination of Mother-to-Child Transmission (EMTCT) of HIV, syphilis, and hepatitis B.
He’s a member of the:
– WHO Guideline Development Group for the use of antiretrovirals as well as member of WHO HIVResNet.
– HIV Control Thematic Group for the Africa HIV Control Working Group (HCWG).
– Regional Advisory Panel (RAP) of the National Institute of the Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) for the MENAT region.
He’s Chair of Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM) Tunisia, member of the Ethics and Governance Committee as well as Board Member (BM) for Eastern Mediterranean Region Constituency (EMRC) at the Global Fund for AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
