The African-led HIV Control Working Group and the HIV Coverage, Quality and Impact Network (CQUIN), held a joint meeting on 8th December 2024 in Johannesburg, South Africa. The objective of this meeting was to introduce the HCWG to CQUIN and provide an understanding of the role the HCWG plays in contextualizing what a truly African-led sustainable HIV response incorporates. It focused on defining sustainability and what shifts need to take place for the response to be African-led, while learning from Ministry of Health representatives about their visions and plans for sustaining the #HIV Response.

This gathering of experts aims to provide a clear, collaborative approach to advancing a sustainable HIV response on the African continent. Through sharing and discussing the work of HCWG and selected country CQUIN members, the meeting will better inform HCWG’s efforts in sustainably addressing HIV in Africa. Additionally, the meeting also focused on securing buy-in and increasing engagement from key stakeholders including Ministries of Health to develop and implement strategies that ensure a sustainable response to HIV. #HCWG #CQUIN #GlobalHealth
